Jim and Colette Mongey crossed the Atlantic and built something that has lasted more than fifty years. What they opened on Pine Street in 1973 is still here, still pouring pints.
The Transatlantic Journey
Jim Mongey left Navan, County Meath, and Colette left Dublin — arriving in the U.S. aboard the HMS Britannic on April 11, 1959. Fourteen years later, they opened a single-room pub on Pine Street, naming it after the city Colette called home.
Carrying Tradition Forward
Today, Colette Mongey continues the legacy she and Jim began in 1973, partnering with co-owner-operator John Baldassarre to carry the Dublin Pub into its next chapter. With a shared belief in family, roots, and tradition, they’ve preserved the character and history that generations of guests have come to love while thoughtfully evolving the experience — from the kitchen and bar to the way the Pub welcomes its community.
